Poster: A snowHead

Not strictly true but I this year I noticed that I can't do up the ankle clip tight enough anymore to stop my heel lifting. The clips (µ adjustment)have been screwed back as far as poss. The boots are 3 years old but only skied for about 6 full weeks. Anyone got any ideas?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

You can get some stick on rubbery strips that go between th liner and the shell that will narrow the loose area a bit, a good boot fitter should be able to do it for you for about a fiver

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

What sort of boots are they?
With some, you can move the catch section forward or back - there's a screw on the back of them which can be moved.

Frosty, I've eaten more than enough pies and actually shed a few which may be the root of the problem.
WTFH, The boots are Nordica ????? and the clips are all rivited so further adjustment is not possible.
What's with the name "Wear the fox hat"?
DG, I'll try the boot fitter suggestion.
Thanx guys.

Hi Graeme, I assume its you, sorry didnt get to meet up in La Plagne. Dont know where the time went. Re the boots, had same problem while in Aime, went into the Skiset shop in the apnt buildings and he fitted a strip bit like DG describes and made a difference. And, bless his little cotton socks, he charged me zilch.

Boardski, I'll see if I can get some info at the weekend on further adjustments. Can you get me a model name/number?
Thanks
(Oh, and the name, which was once an Irish racehorse, is also possibly what you said when I told you to adjust the screw at the back of the catch!)

WTFH, Boots are Nordica N5.1 and all the clips and catches are riveted on as far as I can tell.
Chris M-J, It is indeed me and it was a thoroughly poor show on both our parts that in 8 days we could not find 10 mins for a chat and a beer.
The guys at Skiset were great though eh? I hired my gear from the shop in Aime as it was half the cost but the guys at haut bois adjusted the bindings for me and recommended various type of skis to try. As it turn out, and contrary to email exchange, the guys at the haut bois shop would have matched the price I paid at Aime and saved me a walk on the return day. Still the holiday was superb and the apartments were the best I've stayed in. Wasn't the under floor heating in the apartments bloody marvellous? Nightlife in La Plagne is still Sh*t though.

Yeh, La Plagne has to go down as the biggest area with bug all to do after the sun goes down. Thought, you are right, the MGM apnts were great. Looking tat the MGM in Arc 1800 for Christmas. Hopefully better choice of night life. Will def book through ski set again. So did you buy some new gear in the end?
