Another professional rider, John Nicoletta, has died after a fall. Apparently, he lost control after a 20-foot cliff drop and was propelled into an exposed rocky area. The tragedy happened at a US Freeskiing Series competition in Alyeska (Alaska) on Friday. The 27-year-old from Aspen is the third pro rider to die this season. Extreme skier Billy Poole died from injuries sustained in a cliff jump during a film shoot in Utah in January. Wallace Westfeldt was killed a week ago from a jump during a commercial shoot in a backcountry area behind Aspen Highlands....Nicoletta’s sponsors included Smith, Helly Hansen,
Volkl, Shred Alert and Leki. He was also a coach for a big-mountain freeride team for the Aspen Valley Ski Club.
