Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New world record set for highest jump on quarterpipe

Skier Simon Dumont set a new world record today, when he jumped 35 feet above the world's tallest quarterpipe. The record was set in Dumont’s home town of Maine, on a quarterpipe 38 feet tall and 78 feet wide. It was custom-built by Snow Park Technologies, and an FIS representative appointed by the Guinness Book of World Records was there to document the moment....Source: http://www.marketwire.com/mw/release.do?id=843034

Amazing! Also, did you notice this in the article:
Quote:
After an hour of repeatedly hitting the quarterpipe, at 10:12 a.m. EDT Dumont hiked an additional 15 feet up the hill to gain more speed. Simon crouched into a tucked position going 55 mph down the in-run and not only launched 35 feet into the air, but spun a 900 in the process (a trick where the athlete spins 2.5 complete rotations in the air).

Wow. So he did all that AND landed backward! Serious cojones!

Now we just need Terje to bring it back to the dark side Wink

He owned himself doing just that earlier in the season (was the X-Games superpipe I think). Looked rather painful Shocked

This is from Symms blog:

"Dumont began hitting the quarterpipe in the early afternoon when he
reached heights as high as 28 feet, before drifting in the air and
falling nearly 66 feet onto the snow below."
