Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Boisses, Tignes. Some advice on lifts please!

I am trying to book a trip to Les Boisses, Tignes on 4th April next year and am worried about accessibility. Does any one know why a dotted cable car line appears from les Boisses on some maps, and not others? And is there a chance that we may not be able to ski back to the chalet at that time of year?

Don't know about the dotted line. By the end of April last year it was certainly not possible to ski back to Les Boisses and the lift up wasn't running. There is however a good free shuttle bus service, so don't worry about accessibility.

For local knowledge send a PM to Stewart Woodward, a SH who is an ESF instructor in Tignes Val Claret.

Have a look HERE for the thread on Tignes this year - Stewart gives us regular updates.

jamieandrose, welcome to Very Happy. Not sure about piste or lift access at that time of year as latest I've ever been to Tignes is late March. However (putting anorak on) the dotted line is a project lift that they've been promising for years. That end of the system seems to be undervalud in terms of lift replacements. They were meant to be putting in a replacement chair for one of the two out of Le Breveries / Les Boisses for this season but it didn't look they had when I was there in January. Whether the new lifts will be in next year who knows? They are replacing the Tufs in the centre of Tignes though. I'm sure Stewart will know when he comes along.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

From les Boisses there is the bus to & from le Lac, an old chair ( due to be replaced), or you can ski down to Breviers & get the Sache bubble up.

It is very unlikely that runs down to Les Boisses will be closed early April - and you are going on 4th so it's all very easy and you'd have options from Boisses or Breveries...
