Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just looked at prices for New Year and they are horrendous coming from Ireland far dearer than previous years. Usually go to Tignes for snow sureness and we like the big ski area but wondering

(a) is there somewhere where flights would be cheaper to get too? and
(b) if we go to Tignes just before xmas instead as we can get flight for £65! would conditions be ok?

Thanks !

ruthie, I've skied Tignes/Val d'Isere in the first week of December on a few occasions. Snow has usually been OK, sometimes good.

Les Deux Alpes? We went there last new year with Equity Ski, they have some all-in packages for around the £900 mark (not too bad when all you need is beer money). Not sure whether the flights can be organised from Ireland though. Snow was great new year 08. However, we did wish we'd left it to baook last minute as there were loads of cheaper deals nearer the time

KateF, Thanks for advice. Unfortunately flights/packages from Ireland get booked up very quickly for peak dates. For instance the package flight to Chambery from Dublin is already booked up for New Year week! If we wait and go from mainland Britain we end up paying extra to fly from here to there as well. Might take chance and go just before Xmas.
