Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

MFC, we've been going to Val Thorens in the second week of Easter (which drifts from early to late April) for the last few years and skiing has been fine at Val Thorens with all the resort runs open; going soft in the afternoon with poorer conditions in the lower resorts of the 3 valleys with some run closures.

Lech will be a good bet as will Val D'Isere, Zermatt, Cervinia and Are in Sweden. Lech prob the most pleasant and they have over 3 m at the top at the moment so as long as they dont get a carribean heat wave it should stay pretty good until mid/late April.

Any village above 1800m is good.

Try Val Thorens, Val d'Isere and Tignes.

Obertauern, Obergurgl, Zermatt, Cervina, Val Thorens, Val d'Isere, Tignes. I think any resort over 1800m will be OK for the rest of the season if what's promised arrives this weekend.

MFC, We always have excellent late skiing. It's not necessary for the village to be over 1800m - just the skiing!

MFC, I've been skiing Easter since 1992. Never had a bad time. Started with Nendaz, moved over to Verbier, then on to La Plagne, Val Thorens and Whistler. Also managed day trips to Courmayeur, Chamonix and Les Contamines. As mentioned above: as long as there is skiing above 1800m you should be fine. Many years we were skiing right down to 1250m.

We got a good deal in Val D'isere for 19th April - £399 including food, wine, accomodation, transfers and flights (and then got upgraded to a 5* place for no extra cost as were prevoisly the only ones booked into our chalet Toofy Grin ). Not bad, but then I just looked at lift pass prices in val Shocked Shocked Shocked

just had almost a metre of snow in La Rosiere and it's set to continue for at least 3 days according to the Meteo, at this rate we'll still be skiing in June!

MFC, with the big dumps of snow we've been having, and look like having for the next week, there will be a very good base for April. But even with loads of snow depth (as there was two years ago after mammoth March snows) you can still expect spring conditions in mid April except at the highest altitudes. But spring conditions are very pleasant!

Whistler has had a great season, still cold now and we are getting some awesome dumps (30 yesterday and another 10 or so tonight) of light high quality snow. So I presume we will have fun spring skiing all through April and May. We close early June for the 'winter' season and end of July is the end of the 'summer' skiing.

ski-finder, May 5th in Val d'Isere, we could ski in La Rosiere well into May but all the saisonaires leave the last week in April for their summer jobs. The Col de Petit St Bernard doesn't open until late May/early June and the police shut the road so that skiers can jump the road, one year the depth of snow alongside the road was 9 metres, that was on the 10th June!
