Poster: A snowHead
|
I have just printed off my CV and am going to pop it in to a couple of ski shops around town.
You see what with a mortgage and a crap job I can't afford a new pair of skis (the old Rossi 9S just won't take another season). So I thought to myself - what better way to earn some cash (apart from selling my kidney) than to get a weekend job in a ski shop?
But the thing is that I don't think that my girlfirend will be too impressed with the lack of time I'll be able to give her.
I need a valid excuse that will keep her happy.
I'm thinking of buying her something shiny before I buy my skis.
Your suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

How about promising her something in the form of DIN settings and waxed bases, much more sensible.

The_Hirsty, why do you imagine that your girl friend wants you to spend time with her? I can only assume that you are in the early stages of your relationship; don't worry, in a few weeks, a couple of months at most, she'll be delighted to see you heading off an a Saturday morning.

Don't tell her, be evasive and avoid the subject. She'll think you're seeing someone else so when you finally admit to having the second job it'll be treated as good news.

The_Hirsty, Good luck. I would think that getting a ski shop job this late in the season may be difficult though. My son is about to get laid off from S&R now that Easter is here.
