Poster: A snowHead

I was thinking of driving to the Austrian Alps next winter and wanted to take the dog as I have seen dogs at hotels before, however I can't find any information about looking after the dog while I am out skiing for the day. Does anybody know anything about this do some resorts have day kennels?

robyouth, do you have non-skiing friends who are dog-friendly? My mum has been out to Austria with skiing friends - she looks after the dogs for half the day.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There are any number of kennel services that will even offer ski-dog guiding. Hiring boots can be expensive tho'

My Dad brought the dog skiing a few years back. Fearghal loved it, he sat on the lifts, and had a grand old time .....

I generally find it goes smoothly. She gets the kids ready in a morning, and picks up and hangs up to dry all my ski stuff. She also does all the packing and carries her own skis.

Frosty the Snowman, you're a dead man bonny lad........................ if the boss gets to read that.
robyouth, we take our dog to our apartment all the tims, but that's the difference, it's our own apartment , and we leave her happy and content. She isn't allowed on the lifts though, other than the cable car, and certainly not on the pistes. I haven't taken her skiing anywhere else, which is why she is home now with our son while we are out in Wengen.

robyouth, We took our dog for the first time in Feb and he loved it. Like Helen we left him in our apartment...he was so tired from running about in all that snow that he just slept all day!! Took his bed for the hotels on the way there and back, tried to keep to his usual routine and no probs!
