Helly - can you be more specific about what you are looking for; your ability level; whether you like techically-focussed teachers or ones that make you laugh...?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I am a reasonably competant skier on-piste.
Can get down anything - Blues, reds & blacks (Without Bumps) with a little style! Don't really like Moguls & have skied a little off-piste - enough to realise I'm crap at it
Probably prefer technically focused teacher (but not too serious) - I am really just looking for a couple of private lessons.

Helly - if it were me, I'd head over to Avoriaz and Annie Donovan for off-piste instruction. There's nothing shoddy about Hugh - just that you're more likely to be able to find skiable off-piste in Avoriaz. (It was bullet-proof or slush in Les Gets this weekend.)

Thanks everyone.
Phillip - Thought that may be the case. I am hoping for a miraculous downpour of snow by next week - probably not likely though.

Helly - there's lots of challenging off-piste around Avoriaz that will be great fun to ski with someone like Annie (Dave Peek at the Avoriaz ski school is also highly recommended).

Just hijacking this thread.
Any recommendations for general ski instruction in Morzine? I've skied about 15 weeks, but my kids are better than me and I want to try and stay vaguely in touch with them when we go to Serre Chavalier next Christmas.
I'm sure I've got into some terrible bad habits, so am looking for somebody to put me straight in a morning - Off to Morzine (with friends, without family) in a week and a bit.
We've used BASS for the kids in the past, which they enjoyed.
Thanks,
Ed

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

ecsleath - BASS Morzine and Les Gets are both good. I've had, and have, lessons from Joe Beer and Tim Scott is also highly recommended.
