Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Nordica Ski Olympia Fox XBS Ladies or Head Cool Thangs?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm intermediate skier, can ski reds confidently but no blacks yet! I have had old Rossignol Toon Skiis for 10 years and want to buy carvers for on piste skiing. Budgest £200- £300 roughly. Can anyone advice about either Noridica Olympia Fox XBS or Head Cool Thangs. I'm not a particulary aggresive skier - quite small around 5'2" and around 9st. Fancied One luvs but think they might be a bit heavy?

Both of the skis you mentioned will be great for you to step into for carving.
Be sure you are talking about the Nordica Olympia Fox, not the Firefox. The fox is an intermediate on piste ski, that will make you very happy at this level, however the FireFox is an expert ski, which will demand that you stay on top of your game for every move.

I have not skied the Head Cool thang, but really enjoyed the wild thang when I skied it at ESA Stowe. I really like the integrity of the Head line of skis and think that they would not compromise on the cool thang.

Having skied the Fox and Firefox, my personal recommendation is the Fox. but................as I said, the Head line up for women is quite nice, so Im sure you'd be happy on that too!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

SnowHot, Thanks so much - there are so many skis out there its confusing. We live in Norhern Ireland so not many ski shops to go to find things out! I had also looked at the Volkl Attiva range or Rossignol Attraxion 111. Any suggestions of length of ski to get?

At your size, I'd go with something in the high 140's low 150's range in length. The one Luvs are not too heavy for you, if that is ski you really like, then see if you can get a good deal on it.

I'm quite partial to the Nordica Olympia line because I absolutely Love my FireFox.
