Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I've boked flights to Geneva from next Thursday returnng on Sunday. The wife and I would like to go to a resort that isn't overun with families (half-term will be difficult I know) and about 1-1.5 hours from Geneva.

Any ideas?

Jumping Jack Flash, there isn't one, sorry. They'll all be rammed. You could find it difficult to get accommodation for the weekend in any of the resorts, but if you were to stay somewhere like Sallanches you are in easy reach of Chamonix, Flaine, Megeve, Les Contamines, Combloux....

La Grave? You'd need to be keen on off-piste, though.

Isn't La Grave somewhere down south - more than 1 - 1.5 hours from Geneva? I suspect that a small Swiss resort might be the answer, but I don't know anything about the Swiss resorts.

Yup. But I can't think of anywhere closer that won't have many kids. I don't think the small Swiss resorts near Geneva will help. They'll be full of Swiss families, for starters.

Jumping Jack Flash, Given what the weather forecast is looking like I think my choice would be between Nendaz ... to get as high as possible in 4 vallees or one of the 'villages' which access Glacier3000, so I would probably chose Les Diablerets or Gsteig to stay .... Both just over 2 hours from Geneva though ...

I don't know when the Swiss school hols are. If they're not happening then, Switzerland would be fine. Agenterre's suggestions sound good.

The Swiss, like the Austrians, stagger their hols. Pretty much the whole of February is a write-off if you want to avoid children.
