Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Quantity or quality in skiing?

Yep, that's the section we skied.

WTFH, you've probably taken tne photo right after the dump?

I only arrived on Thursday. Wait, there was a small dump on Thursday night! But avi danger was high on Friday so we stayed inbound. Besides, there's enough powder inbound for every one without the hikes (first tracks on Silverado bowl, TWICE. And we didn't even made first chair).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I was disappointed by how little powder I managed to ski at Whistler, considering new snow fell the night I arrived. It got skied out in a few hours.

Whistler is a big international touristy resort. Try going somewhere more off-beat in Canada and it's a very different story.

hmm like Fernie? maybe more off-beat still

Fernie is still in many of the UK mainstream holiday brochures. Keep looking!

I like:
high G carves and feeling the acceleration as I turn down the fall line => wide well groomed piste which is not too busy and reasonably steep
feeling of weightlessness during a powder turn => availability of powder and reasonably steep

Don't like:
queuing
walking
flat busy pistes (seem to be quite common in linked resorts)
rip off prices

If I go as hard as I can (alone normally), 2 hours is enough to toast my legs.

So the conclusion for me is that a mega linked resort is not likely to be worth the price premium.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
