provenjohn, not sure there would be much snow cover in April for any resorts near to Innsbruck, they're all fairly low apart from St Anton which is about an hour away.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Well errrmmm... all fairly low apart from Stubai, Austria's largest glacier, with skiing up to 3,200m, just over half an hour from Innsbruck!
And Kuhtai, skiing from 2,000 to 2,500 and usually open till mid-April.

Mayrhofen was fine April last season. A bit bare in places, but it was OK. That's about 40 mins from Innsbruck.

David@traxvax, dear oh dear. Ignorance is not evidence.
In addition to the above suggestions, Solden and Ischgl and Obergurgl are all options as well. Solden and Ischgl are both doable in about an hour. Obergurgl is about 10 minutes further down the road than Solden. Solden has a glacier and both Obergurgl and Ischgl are open until May.
Some Ischgl pics from first week of April in 2006. Every run was open, including the runs to the resort.

provenjohn,
St Anton is mostly south facing so the snow can suffer in April. As it's low season then I would be inclined to wait a while and see how the snow is nearer the time then pick a resort. Might be worth booking a cheap flight only now though.
Innsbruck is roughly in the centre of this map ...

provenjohn, Ischgl, as suggested above.....although no doubt you would be beter taking the 12 hour transfer to a certain French resort, David@traxvax ?

You know it makes sense.

As Easter is earlier this year more resorts are likely to be shut come April.
