I've been looking at the info on the 2009 skis, which are on the horizon, and these are a few things that interest me.......
Volkl is coming out with a WS version of the Gotama, as well as a womens version of the AC50. Both promise to be a huge hit!
Nordica is bumping up the waist of the Victory to 78(matching the Nitrous)
Nordica is changing the graphix on the womens skis, which never bothered me but seemed a bit dated. I think the new graphix will attract more young girls.
Elan is changing the graphix on the Free Spice YAY!!!!!They were truly ugly last year
Elan is adding the wave technology to a few more skis in their corral!!!
Blizzard is dropping the Eos, with the promise of a womans fat ski for 2010. The addition to the Blizzard line this year is the 76 waisted Viva magnum(womens), with a vertical sidewall and an all mountain audience as its target
The other Blizzard additions is a unisex ski..... 84 waisted with a system binding, that will promise to take the mid priced ski range by storm, but the name of it escapes me. sorry 
In the interest of some enthusiasm of my friend who recently started to rep for Hart Skis. I am extremely excited to get on a pair of Hart Twisted Twins.

are adding shorter lengths for the girls on the FRs. A new park ski to replace the old classic and added full twin snowboard.

red 27, I agree that the graphix are a bit "out there" but I hear that Icelantic skis are quite impressive performance wise.

kiwi1, For the most part I've been reading about the SIA in LasVegas and what the manufacturers showed there. Also, some of the 2009 stuff has been demoed in a few select locations here in the US. I have not had a chance to demo 09's yet, but I'm keeping my eyes and ears open.

Apparently next years AURA is gorgeous all red with a japanese influence I really wanted to buy a pair of these after demoing but they are like gold dust so I settled on the the Elan wave spice which is truly ugly I concurSnowHot,  and I think I made a mistake !
Maybe I should ebay although they seem a little better today I really liked them when I demoed but I dont know just not that fab ......... and I hate the orange swirls !

kiwi1, Why is it with ski designers, that they forget that Bindings are going to be mounted on the skis, that cover up the best bits of the graphics?

Helen LS, The Free Spice was far uglier than anything else in Elans line up last year.
I would really like to see Nordica do more in the women's line up. As progressive as they've been, they don't seem to be getting into the free ski line up much, although the Expert Carver Nordica FireFox was/is the best thing I've skied in a looooooong time!

No you're not missing anythong , HSFC only do 2 skis. The FR and the Classic.
