Poster: A snowHead

Hi, I bought my first board last year and used it for the first time in Les Arcs a few weeks ago. It wasn't waxed before I went and had the factory wax on it - something I know isn't the best.
Today I bought a "TOKO Express mini" bottle that you rub onto the board and then use some sort of pad to brush the board. It didn't come with a pad so can I just use a clean cloth or something similar?
Also, I'm off on Thursday to Bulgaria for a weeks boarding and was wondering if I have time on Thursday lunchtime to get my board waxed and edged - how long does it usually take for a full wax and edge service? I have to leave the house at 4pm to get to Luton in time for the flight and I can get to the waxing place by 2.30pm, would this be enough time?
Sorry for the beginner questions - I'm new to the technicalities of snowboarding - I usually just board without thinking about the science etc behind it but now that I'm getting better I want to improve my kit!

Hi, cheers. Yeah I've searched the forums quite a lot for threads/posts on these express waxes but can't find anything completely relevant

hairybuffalokiller,
I had my board waxed in Austria on the first mornig I was there, and it took the guy less than half-hour...
So you got time before your flight (if your place can do it straight away) or at the resort... FYI, it cost me €8 at the resort, i.e. a lot cheaper than having it done here...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I think the top up cold wax only lasts a day or so and takes a few minutes to put on but I have not used it so no idea what pad or brush is used, the hot wax ironed on should last a week with out degrading too much and takes about 30 mins to put on and is something you should learn to do if you have your own board really

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll enquire about the polishing pad/cloth when I'm back there on thursday.
I rang the shop and they said despite the process taking only around half an hour, they have a ten day wait as they have so many skis and boards to do. I think I'll follow the advice of getting it done at the resort, there's a tuning shop next door to our hotel so that would be worth a bet, and if the prices are like other Bulgarian prices then it'll cost next to nothing!
It's probably time for me to learn how to do it myself - I presume you can tune+repair the edges yourself just as well as they do it in the shop?

hairybuffalokiller, you'll do a better job yourself than most shops: you can hot wax scrape which is better for the base than using the wax remover they use in shops and can tune/detune the edges to your personal preference.
