Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing in large groups... why do we do it...?

I like skiing in small groups. But more than 4 or 5 is usually a right pain. Skiing with other people's small children is something to avoid too.

Skiing with other people's small children when the children are unskilled but daft enough to go faster than they're capable of controlling whilst both of their parents are beginners and too slow to keep up so that you have to take control of the kids in the absence of the parents is not a good idea... The overwhelming temptation to say, "yeah kids, the black runs are the easy ones - just pop down there and wait for your parents at the bottom, they'll be along soon..." is hard to resist...

sking with groups ts always abit of a lottery but what always gets to me is the evening entertainments I want to go here and I want to go there
nonsense, normally by the same faces every night until someone get the real needle and then theres and rift which normal leads to discontent,
tears and sometimes strong words that have no place on a fun holiday.
as ever some personalitys just cant see other side of coin.

I'm not a big group person, any more than 3 others ( so with me makes 4 - a full chair ) and I find an excuse to disappear. too much time is wasted 1. waiting for people 2. deciding where to go to keep everyone happy.

I'm not usually a large group person at all. But for skiing, I don't seem to have as much problem as some here. Wink

I think it really depends on the individuals who make up the "group". I was with a fairly large group of nearly 10. But there were one or two people who knew the resort while the rest didn't. So we all just followed around happily. I wasn't the fastest nor the slowest. And the group didn't spread too far out in speed and ability. So, even though there's a bit of waiting, of the minor kind (less than a minute each time), it just didn't feel such a big deal...
