Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,
I'm thinking of booking a trip to MdC but just want to check out what the costs are like once you get there? Am a bit worried as keep hearing that it's where the rich italians like to go - is it because they are the only ones who can afford food / drink / beer etc.
Does anyone have any info? Also any advice on good places to stay?
Cheers

We have just got back from Madonna and it has to be said that for Italy its on the expensive side for beer, spirits etc but food was not to badly priced.
We found our hotel bar (Cristiana) was about half the cost in town and would recommend it for its position (although the beds were a bit hard).
There does not appear to be any traditional apres although we did our best to find some but there are some nice bars and you tend to get lots of nibbles (actualy we were given plates of the stuff in some of the bars) with your drinks.
Having said that the skiing was excellent and you can ski in all areas without needing to use the ski bus (provided that you are close to one of the gondolas).
We will certainly be going back and will be trying even harder to find the apres

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes we were sans children but there seemed to be some kind of kiddies play area near the Belvedere restuarant which is in town, there is a park in the centre of town which has slides etc which we saw children using and the skating rink seemed fairly popular.
The skiing is great and they have just had another dump of snow so you'll have a great time I am sure.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for the advice I think I'll just go for it then and book it. Can't believe it's a year away already!
