Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Want to take my kids there while in 3 valleys, but spotted that the link between Gondola 1 and 2 is technically a black: is it safe to do?!

tas, Welcome to snowheads. The link is not a black, may look so on the map, but it is blue in real life Very Happy If the kids can ski the red down from the top then the ski between the two gondolas is a doddle, and my kids love la Masse.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Brill-many thanks. Are there any other "not-how-they-looks" I should be aware of?

tas, If coming from VT to Les M, always go via the Mont de la Chambre. The red direct run from VT is a horrid flat path. Do lunch in La Ferme, beside the Boyes piste in Reberty 2000, and at Le Grand Lac Resto at the bottom of the Granges chair.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

...is that "horrid" path the Boulevard Cumin?

Meribel is not a French mountain village, as it appears to be on the map, but is actually a suburb of a rather dreary Midlands town.

I think thats an injustice to Coventry!

Still - I'm going to Les M on 4th April and hope to be enjoying good snow still on La Masse Frosty the Snowman, thanks for the tip. We didn't go up last time because of the apparent steep linking run which put Mrs n off. Sad

Yes. And it is a run to get over and done with, little pleasure to be had there. Boarders and bladers should avoid at all costs unless they like walking.

It has got to be said: La Masse is quality, good runs, and some nice easily accessible off-piste in between.

Has anyone done the Bourg to Les Menuires bus operated by Altibus? How far is it to Reberty where we have rented an apartment? Walkable with luggage or would we be better waiting for the resort "schuttle buses" in the Les Menuires website?

How far is it to Reberty

La Croisette - les Menuires to Reberty is about 1km (mostly uphill) (add another 1/2km for 2000 - and pretty steep- rather than 1850), the Les Bruyeres bit of Les Menuires is much closer 1/4 to 1/2km but all uphill....

I'd get off here if given the choice but the walk is paths rather than a road as it is from La Croisette

With limited luggage and no snow it's fine (with snow and luggage I wouldn't walk it but I'm a lazy so and so..)..if you have kids or loads of luggage try and get a cab or the bus---there is a bus service round the resort see the map for bus stops..in red

There is a decent map of les men here http://www.lesmenuires.com/pdf/plan_menuires.pdf

Never done the bus..sorry
