hello. so responding to someones ad a few months ago a guy wanted his guest house renovating in exchange for some free skiing. just wondered if any 1 else would be in a similar situation. i guess im after a new ski buddy with an apartment, in exchange im pretty multi skilled and could carry out maintainance work in prep for next season or whatever. well work something out.

bookham_mat, it's a good idea and I hope you work something out - we don't have anything that needs doing at the moment but you never know, in future it might be just the ticket. I did try to persuade an electrician friend of my son's to come out for Christmas/New Year one time, and get free accommodation in return for installing under floor heating but he didn't take me up on it.  So I bought a carpet instead.

Actually, I've been giving this barter some serious thought - I'll be looking for (potentially):
1. Decorating (making good, wallpaper and paint)
2. Tiling
3. Hanging kitchen cupboard doors
4. Putting shelves up
5. Flooring
6. Plumbing (bathroom fitting)
7. Partition walls
8. Putting together flat pack furniture
on the technical side:
1. creating a website
2. pen testing
3. bookings system
I bet there's lots of other things too
