Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

After 14 weeks of turmoil, watching endless ski movies and misery I finally got to click in my boots to a set of skis again. Albeit, it was on the Norfolk Dry Slope, but conditions fared well with it being a bluebird day, no powder was to be found and snow depths were of a meager 0cm. Nonetheless, I made the best out of the conditions Very Happy

My knee held up fine, was wearing a support brace, and this is with me skiing a fortnight earlier than I was meant to..

Honestly though, I don't know why people make the dry slopes to be so crap. It took me a dozen or so runs till I was able to know how much edge to put in, but after that I was able to zoom down with confidence. I definately prefer dendix to the snowflex crap though, but maybe that's cause I only went on the snowflex run once.

Timmaah, wednesday night is mens night & great fun - they learn all sorts of stuff - mostly racing, but freestyle too & some of the best instructors in the place IMHO.

ps Very Happy freestyle is just before it with another great instructor.

Oh, snowflex is horrible if all you want to do is ski normally, it's like skiing on eggshells (but worse), great for tricks etc though 'coz it's soft(er) on your bum. You get used to the stuff with practice though but give me Dendix any day for carving and general practice.

Good to hear you're better - enjoy the rest of the season snowHead

rpft, ya, the uni snowsports usually get off shortly by the time all the small kids get let loose on the slope. Was one particulary amusing wipeout yesterday which involved a poor girl flying off a mogul and landing on her face - she was fine.

I did also notice that the aged ( NehNeh ) instructors were teaching some elderly people which is always nice to see.

I'll probably get back to the slope friday for some slalom practise Smile

Bones, I had dislocated my knee in mid-October and had some setbacks along the way

Timmaah, the uea has a race team - you probably know this - run by a med student - & they often ski on friday night. My daughter also skis at that pole session (& me when not feeling too creaky) so I shall probably see you there Very Happy
