hi there,
Me and a friend are heading to La Plagne 1800 on saturday, we were booked for Val d Isere but the travel company over booked the hotel (tossers) and this was the only alternative. Does anybody know if the nightlife is any good in LP1800, or whether its better to head to main La Plagne - if so, is main La Plagne any good? Either way, any information/advice would be gratefully recieved!

The other apres pub in LP1800 is the P'tit Chaperon Rouge next to the eponymous restaurant at the foot of the 1800 chair.
Plagne Centre is full of bars, No'blem does a happy hour, but mostly in the Ecrins shopping arcade which is scuzzy to say the least.
Try picon biere - eurofizz + picon orange liqueur.
Your money will go a lot further in LP 1800 than Val Despair

Never thought of night life in LP as any good.
La mine for a quiet beer.
There is a dutch bar in plagne centre which is quite lively for apres (sorry can't remember the name)

If you do want to go out in centre the free buses run pretty frequently to take you up there and a lot of the bars have a free minibus to take you home - as long as you are sober enough to understand where it will pick you up! Your other option is to take a plastic bag and 'slide' down the piste to 1800, although I wouldn't advise that if there is any ice around!

FAQ
- & also another duo (can't remember their names, sorry) with a guitarist & percussionist (bongos, beatbox, lots of stuff) who were great as well. I think they're all there for the season, so it's worth a look. The Edelweiss beer on draught is rather yummy, too...
