Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all,

I am off to verbier soon and was wondering if anyone has some good recommendations for apres ski and eating out. We are looking for cheap and cheerful eateries and reasonably priced apres ski with atmosphere .

any responses gratefully received.

cheers

There's a good butty take away opposite the Medran. How cheap were you thinking?

Cheap. Apres. Verbier. Sorry, it doesn't compute. wink

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

mr ted, I agree with Mosha Marc, you'll struggle to find a)cheap and b)atmosphere.
We've just returned and I'd have to say for atmosphere, Pub Mont Fort gets the nod (but there wasn't much competition). Wonderbar is ok but full of "Ruperts and Gemimas" who say "Ya" and "amazing" too much and flash daddys plastic around.

As for eating - we had a chalet so only ate out once. Try Al Capones. Its on the road towards Savoleyre - about 10 mins walk from the town centre. Not overly cheap but great food, great hosts and very decent sized portions.

mr ted, The restaurant in the Rosalp is good value... (only joking, only joking...)

2 gaffs on a (sorta) budget are.... Offshore for late lunch type food - really, 'kin nice, and as I recall not too expensive and 2nd one is Bardellinos (?? or similar ??) round the corner from the Farinet and opposite the Bristol Hotel - pizza/pasta but non generic and good atmosphere.

As for Apres.... 1936 on the slopes if you want to look like you know what you're doing... Farinet front bar off them if you don't..

The skiing kicks back bottom - u any good? snowHead

la pergola, Chez martin, relais DES neiges all offer good value and atmosphere and are encouragingly francophone.

red 27, am not too bad, pretty confident getting down anything so really looking forward to the skiing. but as we are 3 lads on our fourth trip of the year could do with not getting too stung with food and beverages prices, especially with current exchange rate!!
I expect to pay a fiver a pint these days, but got stung in courchevel 2 weeks ago for25 euros for 1 and a half pints!
thanks everyone for the recommendations .
