The resort of Serre-Chevalier has launched what it's called a 'Grooming School'. For around 50 Euros for a 20 minute session you get to drive a piste basher. See it as a one-off treat or perhaps your first tentative step towards escaping the rat-race to your new life as a nocturnal groomer.
The facility is open to people of 16 years or over....
Your drive takes place in a dedicated area consisting of bumps or banked turns and snow piles to be 'moved'.
The price of 55 euros per session is discounted to 50 if you hold a lift pass.

I heard this scheme wa already on offer for free all over the alps. This previous scheme was only open to young attractive girls aged 16 years or over though.

DB, you actually get to drive the piste basher though, in the others you just get to sit in the cab.

Lizzard -- You whack the heater on fullblast. Max up the toons. Break out a Kroney. Squash a few bumps. See how long you can drive around with your lights off. Stop and read The Sun for a bit. Push some cool piles of snow around on a black run. Then park up behind a tree with some treacle and ski the ol' pink run

Does anyone know what sort of hours a piste basher shift might entail? I'm not saying Whitegold's remarkably accurate description has me any way interested...just wanted to know!

Me too! My fave resort, and a piste basher ride...Need extra strong pants to contain the excitement of it all. Always wanted to go out in the dark too. I'm going to tell DH tonight that the prospective 3V trip in March is off, and we're off to Serre Che instead
