Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bit hard aren't they Sad Nice print of my inner trouser leg on my knee.
I can safely say half pipe riding isn't my strong point. Nor are big cheese wedge kickers. Sad
Getting old I guess. Crying or Very sad

riding the walls are easy, but as soon as i see the top, i pooh it and come down. If i ever get out the top i wouldn't know what to do i'd be so stunned! rolling eyes

The boy likes them, which is quite remarkable, considering he snapped his femur doing one 2 summers ago Puzzled not nice!

But he's back in them again but prefers kickers and rails.

They get easier the more you do them and getting some instruction how to do them correctly would help. I had some of these lessons about 4 years ago in Lake Louise, so did the boy with me, fell flat on my back bottom on my first kicker )due to too much speed) and decided to leave the half pipe and kicker side of things to him Very Happy

I can pop out of them kind of ok, bit sketchy, the one in zermatt puts the fear of god into me though and I can't even think about riding that one. I struggle with the whole made of ice thing, and being crap at riding them of course. I guess that particular skill from skateboarding didn't follow me into the snow but I suppose on a skateboard you just bail and knee slide out.
I would really like to be good at them though, can't see it myself though Sad

stab, I can ride up the wall . . . I can ride down the wall . . . I can't do joined-up wall riding. My real prob. is that I come from a trampolining/gymnastics background and I have a deeply ingrained muscle response in initiating any ballistic movement through pressure down the legs and up through the hips . . . which is EXACTLY the opposite of pipe riding 'cos if I do that I end up out over the centre of the pipe with a 5m drop onto white concrete Evil or Very Mad
