Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bikeandsnow, be careful with your form when lifting heavy weight, especially if squatting with free weights. I've really hurt my knee doing just this with poor form. Get someone who knows to show you how and spot you.

Agree with DrBullet though, if you want to ski hard and fast you need to incorporate periodisation into you training –

Endurance - low weight high reps (15+ reps)

Hypertrophy - about 80% on your one rep maximum (6-8 reps)

Power - strength training (1-4 reps) 90 to 100% of your 1 rep maximum

sheepmadang, and liz09, I am also a body pump addict and I really think the squats and lunges enable you to ski for hours and hours I definitely noticed a difference last year when I went away after pumping for a year Smile

I went yesterday though for the first time in a week and I hurt today rolling eyes
