Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

skiing france early april / late march 2008 - sugg please

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I need some help from the snowheads indepth knowledge. Where could I go for 1 week holiday in France Late March / Early April 2008, with guaranteed snow on the beginners slopes, and enough for those of intermediate and expert status? Obviously looking for self catering chalet.

Is the fact that snow has come early this season an issue?

Thanks

I would suggest as high as you can, therefore Val Thorens

Tignes has a glacier that is open almost year round, but don't think it includes any beginner slopes...look at a trail map online to see how high the bigginer slopes are...

Aim high Jasonhornby, but don't forget that the last week of March is Easter holidays so it'll be busy

Jasonhornby, how about Chamonix? Beginners can go to Le Tour (should still be plenty of snow) and there's bags of everything else for everyone else.

We're looking to go 5th April. Colboltwoman is a beginer (had one day on snow and will have a few warm up sessions) so would this rule out Les Deux Alpes as the green runs are mainly at ~1600m (alhotugh there is the glacier it might be a bit steep for her). I have been to Val Thorens before but would consider returning, is this a better bet?

The blues on the glacier aren't that bad at LDA. They do beginners lessons for summer skiing on them, and by the end of the first day, you had to cross a stream and try not to fall into some very large puddles at the bottom of the lifts. The glacier is very high, so I doubt it would be be that wet in April (compared with July!)

I did a week of summer skiing at LDA after a ski in the day at a Snowdome and nothing else, just got lessons when I was there.
