Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Butterfly, Nice pressie, useful pressie.........at least it wasn't an iron!!

I saw the nasty crash in the ski race, but not all the programme - having been away for a while I don't know if its already been posted, but do we know how the chap got on?

My daughter also saw the crash - she now doesn't have a problem with me fastening her helmet on good and tight!!

Megamum, he's Ok again. Miracle! The guy smashes his head against sold ice at 140Km/h, so hard that his helmet breaks, and he comes away with a big headache and some skin missing off his face rolling eyes When I saw him jerking around I thought he was dead. Last time I saw someone do that was when Ulli Maier broke her neck in Garmisch, and she was most definitely dead Confused

Steilhang, Thanks, I'll let my daughter know that he was OK. I'll tell her that his helmet must have helped, might as well get some good out of his poor experience if I can. I'm sure he would advocate the use of a helmet for anyone at any speed after that!!

He is just so pleased because I am lighter and fitter than I have been for so many years (long way to go still tho!) and am able to do something like learning to ski. I could never have contemplated it before. I just wish we had both done it when he was fit enough to learn too though - he says he feels his back problem means there is no way he'd risk it but he is enjoying seeing me do so.

I reckon that crash has increased ski helmet sales all over the world. My wife has been objecting to wear a helmet for years until she saw the crash and she said, "I suppose wearing a helmet won't be all that bad!". So, we went and bought a ski helmet yesterday.
In case you are wondering, I have been wearing a ski helmet for a couple years.

I mentioned this in another thread but I was watching the ski racing with my little boy 4 on Monday. He was spell bound so I asked him if he wanted to be a ski racer. He saw the crash and said may be ona little one first Laughing I've actually just bought a helmet before the crash
