Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Unlike many resorts, I cannot find a definite date for the end of the season. As I am planning for Easter '09 I was hoping one of the many many helpful
's may be able to give some useful info.

The date given on the Zillertal website

is 6th April.
That is for this season, of course, but I don't expect next season to be very different, although it will be after Easter.

Do they usually close on the dates stated? It seems pretty early compared to many resorts.
By the way, Easter to me is school holiday Easter w/c Sat 5th April this year and Sat 4th April 2009.

they stay open longer if the snow is OK and people are still coming to ski.
And of course there is always the glacier just up the valley - that is open all year.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I was there last year and the resort shut half way through my holiday because I didn't check the end of season date
Thankfully it's dead easy to get to Hintertux by bus, which was arguably better skiing than Mayrhofen anyway.
