Poster: A snowHead

I bought a pair of Oakley Riddle glasses a few years ago for skiing and love them. Some big foot stood on my bag recently (and I know they should have been in a case) but one of the metal hinges is broken. Is there any point in trying to get them fixed or am I going to have to buy another pair? Actually, I think the Oakley factory might be in Ireland?? Any advice???

Get in touch with Oakley. They have a reputation for good service, and if they can't fix them will probably offer you a discount on a new pair.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

wl, Oakley will let you have a new pair on return of the old ones for less 50%. Oakley are in Letchworth in the UK, not sure about Ireland.

Oakley are top notch for customer service. I have over a dozen pairs as I'm a sunglasses whore!
The few times i've managed to bust them I have had them replaced free by my dealer. If you can't get them done via the retailer then speak to them directly and I'm sure they will sort you out.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks a million everyone for your replies. You've seriously cheered me up. I'll give Oakley a shout as they have a factory in Mullingar. So much happier - now I won't have to cry in a corner all weekend!!

Encouraging to hear of decent customer service (although as the products cost about 5% of the selling price to make, I suppose that they can afford to be generous).

Yes, my experiences of Oakley customer service have all been exceptional. For £20 they replaced my half-jackets (i.e. I bought an extended warranty, and because they glasses were 'beyond repair' they replaced them rather than repaired them).
