Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Liners

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey guys -

After Phillip's post on his new liners, it made me wonder about third party liners. My standard ones are pretty shot after a full season's use.

I'm pretty sure I'll be instructing next season, I ski reasonably hard/fast but not competitively, pretty much every day unless ridiculously hungover.

So, zipfit, intution, foam injected? Any input on them?

Cheers,
Dave

I bought zipfits at the start of last season and skied in them for about 50 days. Very impressed, once they had finished forming around my feet. I needed an additional pair of boots for this season and got foamed liners. Skied in them for about 25 days so far and equally impressed. Both types give a precise hold, but no obvious pressure on my feet. It's difficult to explain, but very different from the stock liners I've used. I described it as being "welded to my skis", but no obvious advantages of one type over the other as far as I can tell.

DaveC, good to hear that your doing an instructors course Happy

I've skied in Intuition liners for about 4 years and have been very happy with them. They are comfortable and give better performance than stock liners.

But recently I've just been wanting that tad more responsiveness - hence the foam job.

A difficult call though.

I chose foam over Zipfit purely on the fact that I can get to back to SZK easily for tweaking if I need it. I'd suggest you get recommendations for the best boot shop in town and go with them, rather than the "technology".

CSIA 1 this year, getting a visa to come back and work with it and try and get my level 2 next season so I can get sponsored for the year after... Very Happy

The shop I trust with my feet (already got orthotics made up there and they've looked after me pretty well) only does injected foam or intuition - not seen Zipfit anywhere in town, but I figure there's no massive rush yet.
