Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ditto. It's in the mists of time, but wasn't that newsgroup split into the regional groups?

There's now a r.s.a.moderated which is somewhat more sane - not that I've looked for months.

Yes, I still visit occasionally and sometimes point posters in the direction of snowHead

and were contributors??

Very rarely.

It was interesting linking up names over there with names over here. Some used the same on both, some were obvious, some not so.

No, rec.skiing.resorts was split into regional hierarchies, of which rsre was one, intended just for resort discussion but it got a bit of more general ski chat to escape the madness of rsa.

rsre is still in my newsfeed, but I haven't looked at rsa in a long time. Posted on both, including a small discussion with the founder of the Holy Church of Vail at one point. Shocked wink

Yep, I was relatively active on there for a while. I only remember one other name though, a chap called "Simon Brown" I think who was based in flims/laax. Used to go on about marmots, storks and weather a lot, but seemed a really nice bloke!

At some point my news server stopped cooperating with thunderbird and there is so much more traffic here than there there ever was on rsre (even ignoring the off-topic stuff).
