Poster: A snowHead

I am sneaking a cheeky lads weeked to Meribel on the31st Jan,staying at the Hotel le Roc in Meribel centre.
A few questions for Meribel regulars please.
A decent hire shop en route to the lifts at La Chaudanne where I assume we can get our lift passes.
Would we need a locker near the lifts or can we ski back to within walking distance on the piste that seems to skirt the the back of Hotel Le Roc.There seems to be some sort of walkway linking the centre of the village with La Chaudanne?
Recomendations for a couple of decent evening restaurants.
Any decent bars/clubs that are not too full of kids.
Or any major Do's or Dont's based on your experiences of Meribel.
All advice most welcome
A few of the group have skiied the 3v's before but no experience of Meribel as such.

Hedley, the lift pass office is actually in the Chaudanne area. The lockers are next to one of the lifts also in the chaudanne area. We always use these but we generally stay further out of the village. As you are in the centre you may be OK dumping your stuff at the hotel before heading out for apres.
Good bars are Le Pub, right in the centre, you can't miss it, and Jacks bar (opposite where the ski buses stop, heading to the left as you walk out of the Chaudanne area.
As for ski hire, our group used Twinners on the main road and again not far from your hotel. Didn't have any problems .

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Freeride had excellent kit and are based on the upper level of the group of shops just opposite the roundabout at the chaudanne. Look at the Meribel unplugged website for good bars/events and resto suggestions.

I'll second the Rond Point Apres ski 1 Bottle of Toffee Vodka per person and as many large beers as people in the group never fails to amuse! Freeride is the best hire shop. Have fun!

If you're heading up to the Tougnete, whence you can ski the wonderful Jerusalem into St. Martin, don't use the Tougnete bubble. Take the Plan de l'Homme chair instead and ski down the short blue to the new Tougnete 2 chair.

i am a big fan of the La Kouisena restaurant. also chez kiki does the best steaks if you are up for that.
for a cheap excellent sandwich or panini while skiing go to the take away next door to the castors opposite the tougnete bubble in the chaudanne area.

You know it makes sense.

Don't end up in Courcheval or Val T when the lifts have shut - its an expensive taxi ride
Don't go out on Wednesday - chalet staff night off and you won't find a table anywhere
