Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Summer in ADH/L2A/Bourg D'Oisan

I know its a long way off and a lot of you havent been on ski trips yet. But in a very soggy Janaury, we need to have our dreams of better weather.

Im organising a summer holiday for my family on 22-29th July. We fancy exploring Alpe D'Huez, Les Deus Alpes and Bourg D'Oisan area. We're flying out wednesday and would want somewhere to stay wednesday/thursday/friday night. Ideally with a base near a ski resort in a prettyish location.

Saturday - Friday we're staying near Briancon.

Whats Grenoble airport like?

What activities are in ADH and L2A, i imagine it'll just be the normal mountainous activities, any worthwhile activities?Any suggestions?

How about cycling from Bourg d'Osian up to ADH - 21 hairpins over 13km like they do in the Tour de France. You can get an official timing and a certificate of your achievemnet Very Happy

yeah its been done in 18mins by pantani, crazy stuff. Im not sure thats quite my cup of tea. Rather a telecabine up and a nice VTT trail down with a cup of chocolat chaud at the bottom.
