Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Tufs is not a place to be with the present snowpack..
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Have been discussing this in the Tignes snow report thread.
It appears the British Snowboarder in Tignes was skiing the Fingers, a very dangerous section of couloirs.
There were helicopters all around the area all today.
Very sad.

Is it me or does someone seem to get killed on Les Tufs every season?

Yes - i'm afraid it does seem that way and its so frustrating to see. I can think of many examples i'm afraid. Especially when its a seasonnaire who has all the time and the whole season to pick the best and safest time to do all the exciting stuff in resort. I dont want to come across the wrong way, but that whole area above the lake does have many victims over the years. Its also not a very good run on a board with little reward, especially in terrible visibility like today. Such a shame and my thoughts go out to his friends and family.
Hopefully this will remind people that this isn't the best time of the season to doing that type of terrain. Save the Fingers etc till March / April. Really am sorry this happened though
