Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Binding problems!!!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have recently bought a new set of skis and binding, but I decided to fit the binding my self for once. Iv managed to get them fitted but the toe of my boot lifts up and down when in the binding by a couple of mm's. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. Any help would be great.

hutchy013, what make/model of bindings? Assuming the toe lugs/toe sole plates on your boots aren't badly worn it sounds like your bindings have a toe height adjustment that must be set manually - if so they'll be a screw head in the top if the toe piece. The correct clearance between the anti-friction device (AFD) & the underside of the boot is 0.5mm. If you haven't got a 0.5mm feeler gauge place a business card on the AFD & click your boots in to the binding. Then screw down the toe piece until the gauge/card can be smoothly removed with a firm pull, then you're good to go.

Don't forget that as well as setting the DIN release values you must also set the forward pressure adjustment.

hutchy013, asking a question like that would normally make me question whether you should be setting your bindings yourself.

Not that it's actually hard but you should get someone to show you first so you understand the whole process.

Good luck.
