Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Arcs Apres Ski / Food

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

Heading out to Les Arcs on Tuesday 3rd Jan. I'm looking for some tips as to where to go for a drink after a day on the slopes. (similar to Krazy Kang in St Anton if anyone knows both resorts) Also some tips on restaurants and bars for later in the evening would be appreciated. We're staying in 1800.

Thanks in advance Madeye-Smiley

My food recomendation is the Tex Mex in Charvet. We stayed in a hotel so didn't eat out much but we kept going back for lunch here.
The apres is very low key and I'm trying to remember the name of the bar we found in Villards which seemed lively, I'm sure it was Red something???

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

stantonrules, Welcome to snowHeads snowHead

Restaurant L'Ancolie in Peisey is fantastic, rustic farmhouse, great food, need to book.

Just got back from Les Arcs. Got to say this resort's got some of the best terrain I've ever seen. However it has the worst apres ski of any resort I've been to. Arcs 1800 is the "party town". There are two bars worthy of the name. Red Hot, and Ambiente. I would chose ambiente on the basis that it's French, nearer the slopes and has a cosier feel to it. Of the restaurants Le Triangle is worth going to (went twice) the set menus are excellent. Jungle Cafe is Ok. Avoid L'equipage like the plague.

Having said all that, I would go back to Les Arcs for the slopes, but would stay in 1950. Quiet but at least looks nice.
