Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best arein the Ski Welt region for a nervous wife?

Does anyone have any suggetions as to what area would be suitable to a nervous intermediate in the Ski Welt region of Austria?
My wife suffered a fairly nasty knee ligament injury in Obergurgl last season and is very nervous about returning to the slopes.
I purposely chose the Ski Welt area as I have read in many ski guide books and websites that the slopes are of a fairly gentle nature, but can anyone recommend a good wide blue for her to regain her confidence on day one?
Thanks people.

paulnjoo, Welcome to snowHead .
Depends where you are staying in the Skiwelt area, but we have found some of the easiest blue runs around the Brandstadl,Eiberg and Hartkaiser areas. Some of the red runs around this area are pretty wide and nice to ski. There are some blue runs back down to most resorts but we have only gone back down on red runs.

Have a look at Westendorf - beautiful village with some good confidence building blues and reds.

Yes, I'd agree with Westendorf. First place I ever skiied so holds some good memories for me! Nice big nursery slopes, some lovely easy runs and a pretty little village to boot!

paulnjoo, agree with whitewizard. Scheffau gondola to Brandstadl then the wide open easy blue to the lifts at the bottom - chair back up, repeat as necessary until confidence is restored Very Happy

At the moment I'd say avoid the Hohe Salve (steeper) and avoid runs to resort, as they'll be getting very busy, and are prone to hardpack/ice. You'll be better to downride the gondola (train if in ellmau)
