In Changchun (China) yesterday, Canadian aerialist Steve Omischl won the first World Cup freestyle event of ski season. He won with his opening jump, a quadruple-twisting triple somersault, performed with a double twist on the first revolution....His overall score was 247.55, while Anton Kushnir (Belarus) took the silver with 237.33, and Olympic champion Xiaopeng Han got the bronze with 236.11.
Australian Jacqui Cooper, the defending World Cup women's overall aerials champion, won the women's gold with 196.62 points. Teammate Lydia Lassila was second with 190.34, while Xinxin Guo of China took third in 186.70.
