Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Why is there no 'magic treatment' to fix injuries? :(

Well.. Some of you may know I dislocated my knee a while back and was expected to be up and skiing about this point. I did a bunch of exercises and have strengthend my leg up quite a bit since the accident and can now run, kick a ball etc. with no real issues. My physio said I had to wait till February to go skiing, didn't really believe me so went for a second opinion (my old physio who I trust).

He said roughly the same thing but least he told me why. It seems that the outer muscle is a lot stronger than the inner one (vmo) and thus pulls my kneecap out to the right meaning I could easily dislocate it. I have thought of just going anyway and wearing a support brace I have, and that was initially my plan before a couple hours ago when the physio described why I shouldn't go. Alas... I think I'll heed his advice.

People in Harry Potter have it good....

The only use for a support brace is to burn it to keep you warm if you're trapped on the mountain.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Timmaah, I was told to use the abductor and adductor machines at the gym to strengthen both muscles equally. Quads are important, but you need strength in the other thigh muscles too for stability.
