Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow Report 10th December

Mrs Chris enjoying herself in Monetier
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it's more good news this week, with the Alps and the Rockies enjoying even more heavy snowfall, and the Pyrenees and Scotland are also benefiting from stormy weather and cold conditions. Conditions remain excellent in Japan... As the season gets underway, and more resorts are starting to open, great reports and pictures are starting to come in from those earlybird snowHeads who've made the most of the spectacular early season conditions, however please spare some sympathy for the the poor snowHead resident in Fernie who has seen the previous low level snow washed away by rain.

In North America we're getting good reports of conditions in Aspen, Telluride, and Tahoe. Snow Forecast were also reporting good conditions in Mammoth and Squaw Valley as well as the Utah resorts. North of the border Sunshine and Jasper apparently have a good base forming and cold temperatures. However the most recent news is not so good from Whistler and Fernie with great early snow taking a bit of a battering from rain this week. But forecasters are predicting a change in fortune soon, so those of you headed over there may wish to start a snowdance immediately!

Again this week, Mike Pow sends his regards along with reports of even more deep powder snow in Japan. Still no sign of the promised pictures though. Perhaps if we all ask him really nicely?

Fresh tracks in Zermatt earlier last week
In Switzerland, conditions are generally good according to Snow Forecast which matches the reports that we've had back from Verbier and Laax, and we've had some superb pictures from Zermatt that would make even the most level headed snowHead green with envy.

Powder off piste in Lech
In Austria many good reports continue to come back and although there is some concern that recent, milder conditions may have had an adverse effect on the lower slopes, on the whole this is considerd a good thing to consolidate the base to the benefit of the rest of the season. It is currently snowing in St Anton and Lech, and last week we've also been hearing good things about Saalbach, Schladming, and Obertauern.

Elsewhere in Europe, lift served skiing is currently available in Scotland, and happily it has been snowing heavily in the Pyrenees. In Italy Livigno is also skiing well.

Beautiful snow on the trees
To the delight of snowHeads' not insubstantial francophile contingent, France seems to have caught up in grand style after losing out to Austria in the storms two weeks ago. Our regular threads from snowHeads on the spot in Les Deux Alpes, Les Arcs, Tignes, The Portes du Soleil, Chamonix, The Three Valleys, Puy St Vincent, and Serre Chevalier are all telling us of great conditions on and off piste, powder skiing, and more snow on it's way. Meanwhile many snowHeads are avidly watching snow accumulate on the webcams prior to the opening of La Plagne and that other great favourite resort of ours, La Rosiere. lemanieg reports limited snowfall but beautiful sunshine in Isola 2000 in a PM to the weatherHead, whilst J2Dave also told us about good conditions on a recent trip they had to La Clusaz.

As ever thanks to all those who have contributed pictures and posts including http://www.J2ski.com and www.easiski.com . Any queries or corrections please feel free to start a thread in Snow Reports or PM the weatherHead. snowHead

weatherHead, another brilliant post. Well done.
And I do note that last year we didn't have a Weatherhead, and the snow was crap.
This year . . . . . . I reckon Mr Weatherhead should take the credit. snowHead
