Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Actually, johnboy, I have found over four seasons of watching snow-forecast, often real-time in resort, they underestimate snowfall more often than they over-estimate it. Most forecast services are much too wise to even attempt to forecast precipitation amounts.

pam w,

Cool. When are you heading to Les Saisees? Been to Crest Voland twice. Wonderful place. Totally unknown to most on here.

We head out on 4 January, when the masses depart! You should try it again, now the Espace Diamant is opening - new faster detachable chair in CV this season, to replace the Cernix. New fast chair in Praz sur Arly, too, to replace one which was interminable before. We hope this early snow is not going to stop them getting the work finished. It's a really scenic, varied and interesting area now, and quite sizeable. We haven't yet got bored with it, and this will be our 6th season. Snow forecast definitely underestimated the snow falling on Les Saisies today (I use the Notre Dame forecasts).

At this rate though I think we might have to pass this season, my 4wk old daughter is in hospital this time for a respiratory problem, so altitude and cold might well be out the question this year. having said all that, trade it all in to have her better and home!

pam w,

I will certainly return to the area. It is beautiful and Crest Voland is where I learned to ski in 1992.

skinutter, very, very, sorry to hear that. Must be a huge worry for you both with such a little scrap in hospital; here's hoping she's soon better and home for Christmas. As you say, something like that puts skiing in perspective!

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Tell me about it, I've got an important exam at the end Jan, go skiing straight after and I keep on looking at webcams instead of revising! Embarassed

she's doing a little better today snowHead still in a oxygen 'headbox' but breathing is much better and she's looking a better colour today! Grey and pastey is never a good look....

Hopefully another few days and she'll be breathing ok and we can sort her feeding out, she's on IV drip still

Cheers
David
