Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Have I gone too long?!

Ok, so I bought some Fischer RX 6's in a 175...
I wanted the 165's but was sent the 175's and now there are no 165's left in stock!

I'm an intermediate skier. I tend to stick to blues and easy reds. I'm 6ft tall and just over 100kg!
Do you think I'll struggle on these skis?!

Help and advice please! (and no, I cannot return the skis as they were bought on Ebay... and I can't find any 165's for a good price anywhere!)

withyour height and weight i would say in that ski, 175 will be just fine, others may disagree but that is the nature of a forum so i am told Little Angel

I hope you're right! I'm worried that it might be too much for me! I've heard that it's a very forgiving ski, so I should able to get away with the 175...???

benzanna3 I have similar stats to you and usually opt for a ski that's between 175 and 180 so i reckon your new ones are the right length!

when you are bombing down the reds you'll be pleased with the stability offered by the extra length Very Happy

benzanna3, I'm roughly your height and was your weight last season. I found 172s to be too short, and now ski on 183s, so you should be fine on 175s perhaps with some room for you to improve into them.

benzanna3, A few years ago you would have been pointed at a pair of 205s! 165s at your height & weight would be ludicrous rolling eyes

benzanna3, within a year or two you'll be over powering that ski and wanting something longer, so no worries, you've done the right thing. For now.
