Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

1 day or easy multi day touring from Klosters

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi I am posting before I do the google search but I am in Klosters in Jan and would like to use maybe 1-3 days trying some ski touring. Anyone here have any advice about guide companies. Also I will need to hire touring ski's and so any good hire shops aswell.

Not too many guides are based in Klosters. The Saas ski school (just down the valley) seems to have more. I don't have the address with me but I'm sure google could find it for you. I know there are several good hire shops but can't remember their names. There is SCGB rep in Klosters who I am sure will know of hire shops and also should be able to give you a list of local guides and phone numbers. (especially in view of the recent new ruling) rolling eyes

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Would recommend Hans Flutsch of the Saas Skischule. He's lead a few SCGB off piste trips I've been on and is very knowledgeable. Also he's a nice guy.

PS: I'll be in the area with some friends Jan 26 - Feb 2 - there is lots of wonderful off-piste that can be accessed without skins and even more if one is prepared to skin for 20 minutes - 1 hour.
