HELP! I can get a "standard car" (up to 1.85m) for £54 rtn or a "High Car" for £74 return. Does a skibox on my Ford Mondeo classify as a high car?

Scottland, I think they still have only one ferry which is out of action for a period of time each year whilst maintenance is carried out.

horizon,
Car + ski/roof box is defo "high vehicle"...be careful as they can be real sticklers if they want and I know of people being turned away...
To quote their website:

High Car
A high car is a vehicle within the following limitations: height 2.9 m, length 5.0 m, width 2.0 m carrying a maximum of 5 passengers. This category has been added mainly to accommodate those travelling with extra luggage on the rooftop of their cars.

Frosty the Snowman,
This is max height for high vehicle.
Max height for standard vehicle is 1.85m, and most vehcile go over that with a roof box on, so have to buy a high vehicle ticket.
worth measuring once the box is on the roof just in case....
