Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Right, to complete my new set up all i need is new boots!! Now i have spoken to the nearest Board shop to me (200 miles) and they said they will post any boot i want and if it dont fit i can just pop it back to them.

Or

I can wait to i get to Tignes on the 29th and buy from a shop there!

Can anyone recomend a decent shop for fitting boots in Val Claret??? Or should i go with the posting boots back and fore idea!!!! lol.

I bought boots off the interweb (bargainboards.co.uk) and got lucky in that the first pair I got seem to be almost perfect for me... your mileage may vary though. You can probably save money getting your boots beforehand (unless you're going to Canada) but you will probably save time getting them fitted in person. I'd make your decision based on which is more important to you and how long before your first trip to the snow this season (not that far away from the sounds of it?)

Normally I'd recommend splitting the difference and making the time to go to a shop in person before your hols, but if you're in the Wick at the top of Scotland then I'm guessing your nearest shop is Boarderline and yeah, that's a serious trip as you indicate.

On balance it does seem like buying on-piste is probably your best bet as I doubt you'd have time to return boots and get a second set delivered. Good luck! NehNeh

dave_wick, atleast you have them 'heat fitted' moulded to your feet which will save you a few days of having to break them in

i've a pair of those and they're super comfy, i'm really happy with mine.

the consensus seems to be that they fit people with a narrower heel/ankle area, but seem quite roomy around the toes.

Good Good that sounds about right for me.

My trainers and dancing shoes Very Happy are always size 8 so i chanced a size 9 in the Salomans as my Burton boots (which were crap) were also a 9! Very Happy

dave_wick, sounds like a good plan - i think the f22s are generally a tad smaller than the label says - when i got mine the fitter said start a half size bigger than you think.

dave_wick, I'd second what rogg says - bought a pair of f22s last season and IMHO they're awesome. warm, comfy, not too soft, not too stiff and a better fit than the 'top-of-the-range' f24s. happy riding!

sounds like you are.

wear your boarding socks (*thinish ones).

when you stand up dead straight your toes should just touch the front of the boot (only lightly), drop into 'riding stance' - your toes should now not be touching. (if they are you might want to go up half a size?)

since heel/ankle fit seems ok, generally sound about right. wear them round the house (preferably standing) for a couple of hours. if they're pain free you're onto a winner.
