The Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno (Nevada) saw some action it doesn’t usually see last Saturday, when four base jumpers, fitted with snow skis, jumped from the roof of the building. Luckily, they were wearing parachutes to soften the landing. Extreme skier, Shane McConkey, went first, giving him the title of the "World's First-ever" Ski Base Jump from a Building. One of the jumpers got his skis caught in his parachute and made a hard landing, but was not seriously hurt.
...The leaps, which McConkey is calling "Jump of Joy," will be part of Bobofest '07, a charity event benefiting the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
