So you are looking to book a holiday on the basis of an easy transfer available from the airport?
May I be so bold as to suggest that your priorities are somewhat flawed....

Almost anywhere in the Ski Amade region.
Schladming, for instance, is just under an hour away.

You'll need to Register first of course.

feefee,
St Johann im Pongau, Radstadt, Flachau, Schladming, Obertauern are an hour or under from Salzburg Airport. Many hotels can quote you for a taxi or minibus transfer.

feefee, we booked the Obertauern shuttle service off their website. No hanging around at either end - excellent service.
iirc it was €39 per person for the return trip and the journey took about an hour each way.

Hamish, that's it yes - I see they go to lots of other places for the same sort of price too.

feefee, don't forget the gastein valley too. The trains stop at Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein but anywhere in the Ski Amade area would tick all the boxes i'm sure - www.skiamade.com
As others have suggested, if I were you, i'd choose the resort and then look into a taxi transfer. If you go to the local tourist information websites (such as www.gastein.com) they have links to local taxi firms who do airport transfers at very reasonable prices.
Cheers
Kersh

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

DB, I'd say St Anton is a bit of a trip from Salzburg for a weekend.
Kersh, I was in Bad Gastein two years ago via train, very easy, maybe one change and could ski on last day as trains are very frequent.

Kersh, Looks good In fact most of the Austrian resorts look good! Be nice to go somewhere different from Kaprun/Zell, but easy transfers are important when you just have a weekend to ski!!

You know it makes sense.

Yes I read the words "cheap transfers" in the thread title. St Anton is both cheap and easy in that like Zell it's a direct train link but it does take over three hours which is a bit much for a weekend.

feefee, Ski Amade. Train = 1.5 hours to Radstadt / Schaldming 1.40 hours. Transfers to this area = 40 Euro return pp / 45 mins.

feefee, Ski Amade as already recommended or Saalbach/Hinterglemm which is connected by regular shuttle coaches from salzburg airport. The links can be found on the saalbach website ( think reissen- habersatter mentioned earlier also still do a saalbach run, though it used to be via Zell )
