On sale from yesterday, Thursday 4th, the first phase of ticket availability for the Turin 2006 Games. A random draw system will be used to ensure oversubscribed events are allocated fairly during this first ticket sale, which lasts until December 15th.... full details on our sister forum, plus some facts and figures about the Games.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Ticket rush? Certainly not me...I hate crowds.
I might decide for a hop to Bormio for the World Champs, but I'm not so sure.
More likely I'll head in the (an) opposite direction (aka everywhere but there)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Matteo, the usual press release nonsense - I added the ?
One of the problems is that according to the media, Italians themselves have shown little interest in the Turin Winter Games. Is that your experience?

Correct, we are a very emotional people and only when the blood rushes in the veins we show interest. The years Tomba was at the top of the World we all got excited, hence the great masses that got drawn to the ski then. He was histrionic, boastful, a true
Emiliano (he is native of Bologna, as everyone knows)...
When he retired, the crowds, the sponsors and the money, disappeared like snow under the spring Sun...
BTW I liked his successes, but I hated the Cirque that got attached to him, and the fuss and the crowds and the people who used to bomb down runs yelling "look at me, I'm better than Tomba!!!" without knowing the least about the mountains and with less "respect" for the others. It seemed to me, and I may well be wrong, that his successes drew to the slopes the worse of the population, it may be, of couirse that like anywhere, when a demographic increase is seen, then the bad apples increase too, giving an "exponential" feeling to those "already" there...
Again, who knows, I may decide to go and see the shows, esp. if my children will ask me to take them to, but it's too early to tell.
