Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I want to buy salamone ski Equipe 3V + 914. My wait is 75kg. I think I need to buy 165cm skies. but ı am not sure if this is the right size for me. this brands longest size is 165cm and I think if a person heavier then me which size will fit for them? So maybe I should go for 160cm. If any one can give some advise it will help alot.

Regards,

metdesign, Equipe 3Vs are slalom skis and are designed for making tight turns. At 75kg I would have thought 165cm is the right length, provided you're a reasonably competent skier and ski fast enough to bend the skis OK. Salomons are not normally reputed to be particularly stiff skis, although this year's 3V is fairly stiff for them (can't remember whether there is any/much of a difference between the Equipe 3V and the retail Race 3V). You could go shorter if you want, but they wouldn't then be admissible in (m)any races, if that's what you're thinking of doing. If you want them to go off-piste as well they'll do provided you have a good solid technique, as they won't forgive you much, but probably not advisable if you're less than "advanced/expert". If you want something for generally hooning around the mountain, particularly at higher speeds, you may want to look for something different - i.e. longer and not so tight a radius, as that gives you more stability.

metdesign, Welcome to snowHeads snowHead

165cm is the FIS Race length for Slalom skis for Men, so it's the right size for you. I have tried the retail Race 3v and found it very forgiving for a Slalom ski, compared to others, so pretty usable as a piste ski. I also tried the 3v Lab version, that is a ski for the gates only, way too demanding to freeski. I'm 90kg and 1.83cm tall.
