Hi,
I am going to buy new skis for super-G type of on-piste skiing. Which ones you would recommend? I am into Atomic, but I am an old fart and I would like to hear other people's opinnions. I really appreciate if you find time to answer this.

SuperG? That's a bit specialised for regular free skiing isn't it? Get a good pair of race department GS skis and they should be happy with whatever speed you ski at. I have a pair of Rossignol 9X which seem to do the job, but any race GS ski from the recognisable brands would be OK I'd guess.

No guys, don't get me wrong. I ski backcountries with different guns. I enjoy superG a lot and I ski on-pistes very much here in Finland. So I am looking for skis to tracks, not for free skiing. When I go to backcountries, that's another story. In the backcountries I prefer Seth Pistols.
So far I have been thinking about Volkl and Atomic, but I am willing to hear your opinnions.

marko.pyhajarvi, I rode the Atomic GS10Race (182) and the SX12 (182) both are ideal for Super-G type turns with the SX capable of pulling tighter and loading higher. The GS could be ridden all day but the SX needs LOTS of input and control. If you're big and strong take the SX12s out for a long play. If you're not so robust try the GS10s.
I also slid the Rossignol GS 175 . . . horrible understeering old celery stick.

marko.pyhajarvi, Where are any Pistes that are open to the public where you can let rip with a Super G race ski? You'll end up killing someone or yourself. Super G skis don't work at low speeds, you need to be going ballistic for them to work properly. They're only a very small step back from DH skis.
Any decent GS ski is plenty fast enough for piste use.

Spyderam, I agree. It is difficult but there are a couple of resorts here in Finland where I have been allowed to go training with friends.

They were not much fun indoors, but I'm sure they are fine with enough space to get up to speed.
They have a sidecut radius of 27m, the SG spec is only 33m.

marko.pyhajarvi, just curious: up to this point, what is the longest, largest radius ski you've skied on? If you've already skied on a 190ish full bore GS race ski with a radius in the 24-27 range, and know what they can do in fast arc to arc turns, then by all means, step up to a 33 meter SG ski. If not, I'd suggest giving the former a go first.

Masque, Must be a nightmare for Dealers & Racers, in that the regs seem to change every year, so you can't use a ski that's a year old. A Dealer could have a brand new ski on the shelf, that's obsolete, before it's used. Not a problem for sponsored skiers though.

this season for FIS skis it is 23 for women and 27 for men IIRC....
AFAIK that is why the radius on the nordica would have changed...
I remember looking at the elan website and you can easily pick the women's skis and see the changed specs versus last few seasons....
AIUI this change will progress into lower levels in the USA over the next couple of seasons... but holds for all but jumiors in any FIS race...

Spyderman, The rules don't change every year, the last time was just after the SLC Olympics IIRC.
The skis being sold this year are to the new specs, but the older skis are still usable by most people for this season.
Retailers will be able to sell the old stuff to anyone doing Masters races, the equipment rules have been relaxed to make them just recommendations.

Shshshshshshsh, David. 
Yep, the used race ski market provides outrageous deals. Sponsored racers and spoiled kids have to be on new rides every year, so each season dump top level skis with many good runs left in them. That outfit David snagged retails full price for about $1400 US. Not many people, outside of racer types, are interested in them, and most serious racers need new, so the used boards go pretty low.
I personally love freeskiing a GS race ski. Big arcs with big angles, while traveling at good speed. Defines fun for me. Smaller radius skis for social skiing, teaching and slow speed demos. One of these days the secret will get out how much fun it is to take the carving skills learned on clown feet skis to bigger radius boards. Till then, enjoy the deals.

FastMan, he he he. I am gagging to give them a blast. They are not much used - although the bindings seem to have more wear. Should be good for the Inferno too (my excuse for the purchase).
I'm slightly curious as to why they're 190cm - I guess a very heavy skier - or maybe used for SG practice?

David Murdoch, IIRC Fastman has recently acquired elans GS skis in a 191cm.... he is 5'11" IIRC... pretty strong build but not large...
I forget how big his SG skis are... and the DH ones  Mine look like babies stood alongside

David, GS skis in 190 plus lengths are commonly used by skilled adult and young adult racers for GS competitions. They go pretty cheap because rec skiers who want to give GS skis a go don't usually want to go that long. I have the ski you bought in the same length (race stock). They're rock solid, really lock into the arc. They feel very strong, stable, and precise. I like the ski a lot, and I think it will serve you well in that race,,, which I might add sounds like a super fun event.
Be patient with them on your first ride. In 190 there's a lot of ski under you, and they don't begin to really shine and perform until you get them up to a bit of speed. The normal sensation when going from a <20 m shorty, to a ski like this, is the body anticipates a sharper turn than actually happens, and ends up too far inside. Takes a bit of time for the body to adapt to the new turn shape, and to respond accordingly. I'm sure Little Tiger will confirm this. She got on her first pair of GS race skis last season, a pair of 181 Elan GSX race stock. She can explain the sensation she experienced better than I can, but essentially she wanted to turn, and the skis wanted to go. I had to have her use a little knee angulation for the first couple turns until they got up to speed and would start to perform.

yeah damn skis would not bend until I had done more than 3 turns!!! Made the ride "fun" for that period of time...and I'd just get motoring and we would have to stop.... better with the knee angulation.... I screamed less

Hah, I know that feeling only too well having completely surprised myself on a pair of Stoeckli DP Pros (193cm) kindly lent by SZK last year. I ended up so far inside that I experienced a brief "butt-meets-snow" moment. Terribly embarrassing. A couple of hundred yards to dial in the "right" timing and they were a blast.
I'm hoping that the Rossis have a similar feel of "quality" to the 210s that I usually Inferno on - but more manoeuvrable. I should point out that the limitation of my performance in the Inferno is not ability but courage... I've only ever done it once in anything approaching a decent time  I really need to find the time to do a week or a few day's SuperG or DH course - but time is hard to find.
